Without Monks, no-one can survive. VERY few characters seem to be able to survive solely on their own ability apart from Monks. To remove something like that would mean they'd have to reduce mob size to max 1-2.

Not always, my warrior/elemenatalist was very good at PVE and i only had crappy healing signet to rely on. It made the game harder with out a monk but atleast it was fun and challenging.

Are you saying remove the monk class or are you suffering from "Need a monk for mission" syndrome?

I never said that i said do monks make things less stratigic and less harder. Would it be more fun if we had to rely on our own classes specific healing. AN figuring out ways to stay alive other then to rely on monks.

Monks ruin the game IMO. The amount of time you have to waste waiting for an arrogant monk to join your group is annoying (Accept or decline, don't just sit there ). I bought the game with the intent to play it not to /sit for 15 minutes inbetween matches. Am I ever thankful they had the sense to put henchmen in the game so I could actually play through the game myself.
Less strategic because with a monk you can just aggro every group of monsters you see. Even without one I feel like a coward for luring the enemy, what kind of warrior doesn't rely on brute force?

I kinda gotta agree with racthoh having to rely on one class and monks you HAVE to have this class in pvp was kind of a let down. not because they are had to beat, because my mesmer can take them out easily, its just that having to have to RELY on this class is getting out of hand. I had to stay in HOH for an hour because every group was either waiting for 2 - 3 monks or only wanted monks in their group.
SO i just left and waited for guild war.

Yeah, those damned monks, how dare they heal people. How can there be class dedicated to supporting others? Oh wait, there's such class in majority of RPGs, be it cleric/priest/monk or whatever.

Racthoh, have you ever played a monk?
The number of join requests, while abmirable, get's really frustrating when you decline, decline and decline.
Half the time, it's just the same person sending the request over and over.
Monks are very busy people. We need time to clear our inventories, talk to friends, look for our own weapons/upgrades to keep the teams alive.
We also spend time waiting for the party list to fade from our retinas, since that is all we look at.

Yeah, that's annoying indeed. I entered Ring of Fire to help friends there, and there was like 10 invites - and someone cursed at my refusal "WTF are you waiting for here"? So, people shouldn't be surprised monks don't join *your* party, if so many people want them. That's directed at :
"I had to stay in HOH for an hour because every group was either waiting for 2 - 3 monks or only wanted monks in their group.

For the clueless in this thread I'd like to throw a clue:
"What is a secondary class?"
Wait! A BONUS clue:
"What other classes have healing skills or spells?
. . . .
the clock is ticking, oh purveyors of keen and rapier wisdom!

Monks are very very unbalanced in the random PvP, but outside of there I have no problems with them.

Go do Abaddon's Mouth and Hell's Precipice with no monk, e/mo, Mhenlo, or Lina =P
If you can do it then you're right, we dont' need primary healers.

Why do people want to make GW harder? I admit that it's not the hardest game in the world, but every RPG and hack'n'slash I've ever played seems to make people beg for abuse. Not everybody wants to play Icewind Dale in Heart of Fury mode or Hell difficulty in D2. I know that's not what the OP was talking about, but I just started thinking about how often I've seen people say that such-and-such a game is too easy. I'll take all the monks I can get, thank you. If there's a Constant Invulnerability skill somewhere, I'll take that, too. While you're at it, throw in an option for turning all the enemies into bunny rabbits. . . . Okay, maybe not those last two.
